Kate has been informed that her petitions to return to the United States have been accepted. Although there is still paperwork yet to be completed, circumstances look good for her to reunite with her husband Mike in February of 2009. Hopefully Kate’s life will settle down. I know Mike will be happy to have her back.
I think Kate is an amazing person and exchange daughter. She left her mother and family to come to the United States as an exchange student when she was only sixteen years old. She returned to Russia for six months, then left her family a second time to come to make a life in the United States, first as a student and then as a young professional. After her marriage to Mike and a few short months in their new home in Austin, she was compelled to return once again to Russia. Not settling for simply to wait out her time, she found a good job and made a productive life for herself in Moscow. Now she will be leaving her family for a third time to resume what she and Mike had started in Austin.
